Dr Sharon Lourd-Moyo

Educational Psychologist 

Dr Sharon Lourd-Moyo (PGCE, MSc, Ed.D, CPsychol, AFBPsS) is qualified as an Educational Psychologist currently employed as a Senior Practitioner (SEND), Educational Psychologist for a large County Council. She also works in an independent capacity. 

Sharon has worked as an Educational Psychologist for 22 years involving working with children and young people 0-19, now 0-25 years, with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. For example, she works with children and young people experiencing learning difficulties (general and specific) communication difficulties (delayed language skills and children with more complex needs such as ASC), emotional, sensory, physical and medical needs. 

 

Sharon’s work with children and young people has also involved work with their families, teachers, support staff and other professionals. 

 

Sharon has a special interest in Deafness and has worked in mainstream schools resourced to meet the needs of children and young people who are Profoundly Deaf. 

Sharon is a chartered Educational Psychologist and an associate fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS). She is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council and has acted as an expert witness.
